Three reasons why you should have A Continuing Power of Attorney...

1. Without one your immediate family cannot make decisions related to your property or finances if you are incapable of making those decisions for yourself.

2. Without one your family or next of kin MUST seek permission from the court to be your representative or apply to the Public Guardian and Trustees (PGT) Office to do so.

3. If you are incapable of making financial decisions due to incapacity and a capacity assessment was done and a certificate of incapacity issued, the PGT will become the guardian of your property.
